Nature's Beauty
The Things Warhol Said
"An artist is somebody who produces things that people don't need to have. "-Andy Warhol
I came across this quote and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I believe that without art and creativity everything would be so much more boring. It would be bland, non-eventful. I think that it might actually be necessary to have art, and that people need it, often to keep their sanity.

Death of a Newspaper
David Carson
I was introduced to David Carson's work in one of my dig. classes recently. I think the way that he uses word with images is very effective. The way he shuffles and mixed all the images one after another is impressive and innovative.
VOTE FOR ME!
Inappropriate??

In my Digital Art216 class we recently did a project in which we created "fake ads". I decided to use a humorous picture of a man I saw at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival holding a "free sex" sign. Apparently Someone didn't appreciate the joke, or any of my fellow classmate's jokes, for the posters didn't even last a day. They were mysteriously taken off the wall before I even got to my 9am class this morning. Crazy.
Stock Market Frenzy
Andreas Gursky is awesome. He's a widely popular photographer that takes pictures of large scale scenes. Check out his work, you'll be impressed. It's a lot different than my photographs in the sense that I tend to take pictures of funny little details opposed to the large scenes Gursky captures. All in all, I think his photos are sickkk.
Beyond the Wig

I recently did a presentation on Cindy Sherman in my Photo II class. She is a well-known photographer who was first widely noticed in the 1980's. Sherman's photographs "explore the images of women presented in film and other popular media and, by implication, the role of those images as sources of identity for women." I find her work interesting because I have a lot of female symbols in my work, a lot of them being famous. I'm interested in how the media portrays women and the constant focus on women and the changing times. For more info, the website on the bottom of this post is a good place to start:
